The squid ink gyoza from Tiger Gyoza Hall is possibly one of the best foods I've ever consumed. It makes me want to book a flight back to Tokyo and indulge.
We went here on a Saturday night and there was a good crowd. We got a few different gyozas, but the squid ink gyoza was absolutely phenomenal. We got two orders of them because they were so good. The service was great and our server spoke very good English which was helpful for this gaijin.
Great Japanese beers on tap as well making beer and gyoza a winning combo. The best part is that the meal was extremely filling, delicious, and yet cost very little money. I think for two people with multiple drinks and at least 5 orders of gyozas it was under 5000 yen.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Delores S.Rahway, United States1651227273 Mar 2018
This place is soooooo good. Try the black gyoza. Forgot what they are called. I was in Japan for two weeks and ate here like three times! Everything on the menu is to die for. A must try if you visit kyoto!

In our wanderings we stumbled upon Tiger Gyoza and made quick memo of it to come back. The huge tiger sign, in all it's glory, speaking of dumplings and alcohol. This just sounded amazing. So, we were stoked to try it.
The day we went it was fairly empty and we basically got the whole upstairs to ourselves til another large group came in. Originally, we had been enticed by the black gyoza, but their menu had since evolved and a lot of items were no longer on it. They gave us both an English and Japanese menu, but the English one is also outdated and doesn't have all the items.
We tried the Dan Dan noodles and Dan Dan gyoza plus some regular gyoza. Generally, our orders all mimicked each other and we had about three orders of dan dan everything plus some fried rice and chicken. A friend also ordered a bowl of innards which were very good as well. As for drinks, we got a few honey Yuzu sours, a few beers plus a Shōchū mixed chu-hi (??) (not sure what it was, I didn't order this one.) It was really similar to another Shōchū drink I had awhile back. We all thought the flavor was really watery, but I'm not very familiar with the drink so take my word with a grain of salt. The Honey Yuzu sour was amazing though and by far my most favorite the drink I've had in awhile. Huge recommend if you prefer sweet and citrus flavors.
We didn't waste time putting down the feast of dumplings. A nice blend of spice and lots of flavor. Dumplings are a huge vice for me at home, and having them as nicely prepared as they were here was bliss.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dan E.Oklahoma City, United States1327147 Dec 2017
Excellent food. Not crowded. Family friendly. English menu. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The cook even came upstairs to talk to the kids. We stayed in Tokyo (Koto) a week, but aye here twice because the kids were such a fan and the atmosphere was exactly right for us. Highly recommend!

Top notch Gyoza bar.
French rolls are ok, but you'd rather try green gyoza: wonderful taste: coriander splendor, full of freshness. A real delish.
Black gyoza: good surprise, charcoal (good) taste.
Lamb gyoza: a taste of oriental dish in a gyoza. Very original and juicy.
Really great diner spent here.
Service is perfect
Prices are ok.

Based on Yelp reviews, I ate here and it did not disappoint! Some of the best dumplings I have ever had! Servers did not speak English, but they do have English menus and was able to communicate well enough. Cash only. Would definitely eat here again and would highly recommend.
