So I'm a girl on a mission. No self destructing tapes in sight but I quite fancy eating off on all that silly walking I've been doing recently. So I've got the spice bug and it's a quick hoorah to Abid's fine people.
Yet again this is another fine place to go with a group of friends and have an enjoyable evening out. It looks the part, clean, sharp and modern. The service is again another plus point. You'll be seen to quickly (so to speak) and the polite staff and very accommodating. Always a good thing when you have someone like me in your party.
The food is top notch. It maybe doesn't quite have the huge choice of some of the other Indian restaurants in the area but there is still a lot to go at. Besides, what do they say about a Jack of all trades...
I recommend the Rogan Josh. It has a little kick to it without being over powering and is a tasty treat. I always wash it down with a good Indian beer but you've got plenty of wines to wrap your head around as well.
Oh and the plasma screen in the quite delightful bar area is fab too. Definitely worth a look.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (cather…)Leeds, United Kingdom5225 Apr 2011

Great food to eat in or take-away! We are regulars and love it. If I was to say one thing, is is that a few years ago they changed the prawns they use in their prawn puri. I use to order this all of the time and loved it, however the prawns they use now still have (I will call it the black vein down it's back but we all know what it is!) and so put me off. However the good thing is that is made me order the prawn butterfly instead for my starter which is even better so it alll turned out good! 5 Stars!!

I visited this restaurant after many years driving past admiring the decor. I visited for an evening meal early on at 5.30pm. It was quiet as expected. I was dismayed to see that the chrome table legs and base units on all the tables hosted stains which had not been cleaned. The service was mediocre to say there was 2 staff on duty. The toilet lights were out upstairs which was not inviting to the wash utilities. I ordered a fish dish as a starter which was very good and a Paneer dish as a main course. I expected a better experience after visiting many of the big guns within this field. I believe that it may have been an off day for the restaurant which happens to us all on the best of days. I will visit again on a busy night and give more feedback. Prices were very good and competetive, just lacking the finishing touches.

Abids is becoming somewhat of a name in the Leeds curry circle these days. Having opened a couple of restaurants in the area, what I believe to be the original is in Stanningley, Pudsey. You can't really miss it as it is one of the better looking eating establishments in the area. Inside, the bar is flanked by ample space for tables and diners. The decor is modern, with white walls and ocassional coloured lighting. I went to pick up a takeaway, so have not had the opportunity to actually eat-in yet. It is obviously popular with the locals, as it was busy on a Monday night. Therefore my takeaway took just 20 minutes to make. When I turned up they were very polite, and my takeaway was served to me in a hefty, yet sturdy, cardboard box, which was surprising yet made my trip home much easier as it was easy to carry without spilling anything.
I had a Dahnsak, and it was by far one of the better ones I've had in leeds. A little bit sweet from a bit of pineapple, but mosty sour and a little bit spicy, the lentils were not complete mush either. The chicken was cooked to perfection. My naan was enormous. Beware if you're ordering in for one. A good curry for a popular curry house.
**There is currently a £5 off voucher on the back of the Bramley Morrisons receipts for eating in.**Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (Holmes…)Leeds, United Kingdom35027 Nov 2008
This indian restuarant is situated in Stanningley on the main road so it's very easy to find. From the outside it looks very inviting and upon entering the decor is modern and simple. We didn't book and even though it was a friday night we didn't have long too wait. Whilst waiting for a table we sat in a small bar area having a drink and perusing the menu which was quite extensive. The usual indian dishes and a large chioce of speciality dishes were available to choose from. The food was superb, very well cooked and again as seems popular nowadays the nan bread was extremly large and hung on a tall stand. It totally obscured the view of my husband but as we ate our way through the meal he became visable again! I would highly rate the food, very reasonablly priced however the price of the drinks did increase the bill as only bottle beer is available. I would definitely go there again and recomend you to try it.
