3 stars for the ice cream taste, selection, and service. This Coldstone is located inside of Stratford mall which has really taken a hit within the last 10 years. Most major stores have moved out of this mall. So sad actually. So this location can not get a star for location.
Let's talk cream... The selection of ice creams are decent, they have your usual chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, etc. they also have cheesecake, red velvet, cotton candy... Their toppings are most major candy bars and fruits and your usual toppings. What I love about Coldstone is the taste! It's awesome customizing your food. It is a little pricey though. Their signature flavors start at $4.79 for a small. Small cup of plain ice cream is $3.59.
I love their ice cream cakes and other delicious creations! (Shakes, ice cream sandwich)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - M.B. J.Bothell, United States71345717 Aug 2018
Same delicious ice cream you can get at any Cold Stone, but this location seems to struggle with staffing. There's always just one person making ice cream, it seems, no matter how long the line.
I've ordered two custom cakes here in the last few months and one of them was just nothing like what was ordered - red velvet where there was supposed to be vanilla cake, wrong frosting type, etc.
The other cake, a rocky road theme cake, was great and to spec, but when I returned a month later to get more rocky road ice cream the guy on staff told me they don't stock marshmallows as a mix-in. That's weird, because my cake totally came with marshmallows like a month earlier.
Both times I've tried to order a 32oz size to go, they didn't have that size container. That's fine - two 16's will do - wait, no, I don't want the dusty display container! Noooo!
I guess this location isn't a priority for Cold Stone corporate but the low staff, container shortages, and messed up cake orders are making the brand look bad.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Azhar S.Bartlett, United States30918519 Jul 2015
Decent place...nothing too over the top. Been there a couple of times. Last time I was there I ordered the vanilla frozen yogurt with blueberries and strawberries.
Staff was normal and not social or informative when I asked about their recommendations.
Overall, ok experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ericka A.Chicagoland, United States13791606320722 Apr 2012First to Review
Cold Stone Creamery stopped impressing right around the time I realized there were ice cream shops outside of malls. Don't get me wrong, if you're shopping up a storm and need a scoop stat, this will do. But if you want quality cones, there are so many better places to go with true old-fashioned atmosphere.
Cold Stone is expensive. I had a 2-for-1 coupon and still couldn't believe how much it cost. The girl ringing me up was nice enough, but she could not figure out how to apply the discount and it took forever. Our ice cream was starting to melt as we waited. I don't know why I rushed to eat it either, because it was quite bland and the waffle bowl was hard and stale. I got a couple bites of my mix-in here and there, but I had to search for it.
Trust me. It will take you less time to locate a local ice cream shoppe (with an e) and drive there than it will to distinguish which flavor you ordered at CSC. Your tastebuds and your wallet will thank you for it.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Jennifer S.Channahon, United States396834286123 Dec 2012
This will be fairly quick. No one was there. I walked right up to the register area thinking that someone would appear. And I waited. And waited. And then tried to check-in while I waited. But I couldn't. So I setup the business on Yelp (even though I could not patronize the business...since no one was there). But first I looked it up on the web in order to get the address right. And then I double checked. Finally, I considered calling to see what would happen. But then I just couldn't feel good about giving them my money anyhow. And so after putting a Tip on Yelp. I said good bye (to no one) and walked away.
The End.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Truth M.Glen Ellyn, United States32415 Nov 2018

We give the ice cream 3 stars but staffing is an issue almost every time. The staff members don't always give the right amount of ice cream. For example we ordered a gotta have it and we received a love it in a gotta have it container, but we payed the gotta have it price. There are some staff members who give you more than enough and we appreciate them.

very poor service, the manager nisha or something similar was very hasty and had no patience. They are slow and don't even realize that you are there, they were hiding in the back doing something else. very rude workers.

Used to love this place, but went to order our usual Everybody's size (48oz) of peanut butter cup perfection and was informed they now charged for the tub and then to add each topping. At first we thought whatever, it was worth the occasional treat. But then as we watched them prepare it, we noticed a few other changes. Instead of using real peanut butter out of the jar, they now use stuff that comes out of a squeeze bottle. They also only put in two peanut butter cups instead of the usual four. So not only did we end up paying more, we were given less toppings of poorer quality. Then, because she didn't portion quite enough to fill the tub, she added a couple extra scoops of just plain chocolate ice cream instead of mixing a bit more together to top it off like I've always seen people do in the past. So in the end, we paid over $17 for what was basically chocolate ice cream. We won't be returning anytime soon.
