I had a hard time hearing my friend through all the screaming kids at the neighboring tables but other than that I liked the simplicity of the place - white walls, lots of wooden tables and chairs, totally suitable for a cafe/restaurant.
Eckbert Zwo offers German dishes - I tried the Kartoffelsuppe (potato soup, 3.50 Euro) which was nicely prepared and delightful.
Overall low prices for great quality German food in a casual Kreuzberg cafe setting.
Located right across Görlitzer Park.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Marion P.San Francisco, United States11057111 Sept 2016
Went there, asked the guy if I could eat he said I seated and I got totally ignored for the next 20 minutes. Nobody even dared to give me a menu or ask me if I wanted to drink somethin. So I left.
There is nothing more annoying than getting your time wasted.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - K L.Greenfield Park, United States01919 Dec 2014
This has been my favorite restaurant in Berlin for years and I always take friends and visitors here.
The decor is nothing special, and even kind of funny. The location is great of course.
And most importantly, the food is so delicious!
The service has been pretty good lately-servers have been accomodating to English speakers I go with. however the menu is only in German.
I almost always get the käsespätzle with salad. The spätzle is homemade, and comes out buttery, cheesy, and heavy-just how I like it.
Most meals also come with a very nice salad with different leaves, and 3 different groups of vegetables-beets, carrots with a bit of orange, and another kind-all are so good and fresh. Both of the dressings (the brown and yellow one) are delicious and it is one of my favorite salads at restaurants here.
I think the standard menu items are usually better than the specials on the white pages in the middle of the menu. People can overlook the things on the other pages-such as the whole zanderfilet fish served with parsley potatoes and lemon. The fish is always cooked perfectly.
I also usually get a side order of serviettenknödel.
The wine is good and a good price, beer is good..I've never had anything bad here!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Santiago B.New York, United States70221 Sept 2015
Great service and unbeatable price/quality ratio. I have been to several German restaurants in Berlin and this is the best so far. Menus were only in German but server was extremely helpful and welcome. Food came fast and was spot on.

This is my #1 favorite perfect little German cafe in Berlin. It can be weirdly hard to find German food in Berlin, much easier to get Turkish, Thai, etc. This place is just perfect. The service won't be quite as fast as you may be used to, but it's an awesome place to spend an afternoon. Görlitzerstrasse is an awesome walking street, also, for just walking around and seeing how normal people live. I send all my Berlin-bound buddies to this place.

Good place to go for dinner with typical German food and good beer. Service is friendly, but when the place is crowed you have to be a little bit patient (but still acceptable).

Come here hungry and patient. We came here after 8 and the restaurant was not busy. Waited over 30 minutes but the food was well worth the wait. Prices are very reasonable and food is fresh, authentic, tasty, and ample. We sampled many dishes amongst our party of 4 and enjoyed every morsel. Home style cooking at its finest. Can't wait to return.

Ekbert Zwo was reccommended to me by a friend who runs a Berlin Based city guide. He went to the restaurant in order to write a review and subsequently gave it a raving article. I generally judge a place on how busy it is, and Ekbert Zwo can sometimes be ominously quiet. However I always come away more than satisfied with the food, drink and service. The food is the best German cooking I have had since living in Berlin. To start, the sides are tasty and generous; From the complimentary bread basket and home made creamy herb spread to the hearty side salads. The traditional main dishes are excellent, quickly prepared and the portions are generous. Even a full plate of thier delicious Spätzle doesn't leave you feeling bloated the sign of a quality dish! I have always enjoyed the wine I have chosen, the food has always been cooked quickly and well, and the service has always been with a smile; An all round winner of a restaurant!
