I have a special affinity towards this park because it is literally right across the street from where I live. It's a great place to go on a stroll and enjoy a breath of fresh air. I came here for my first park run ever and the hills kicked my butt. Fond memories and good times ha. One downside is the lack of adequate lighting in the evening and the potheads that hang around this single shed near the fenced field (random I know). I know they're minding their own business but it gives the place an uneasy vibe when you have people lurking in the shadows at night.

A great park. Tennis courts aplenty. Park run every Saturday morning, with military fitness doing there own too. Not far from the tube of Manor House and of course their name sake. A lake, cafe. Holds major concerts and is connected to parkland walk as starting point. And perfect for walking though or home as in my case through it when sunny.

I love this park.
It's located at the end of my road, just a few seconds walk from Finsbury Park tube/train station and the the sane distance from Manor House tube. Making it very accessible.
There's plenty of space for sun bathing, playing sports and having picnics!
I love to run in this park. The road inside the park creates a natural running route, which you can freshen up by following different paths that wind through the park, or by heading out to the disused railway track.
There's plenty for everyone - outdoor gym, tennis courts, basketball courts, skate ramps, athletics track, a boating lake with lots of ducks and swans, children's playgrounds, a cafe, dog training groups, military fitness, tag rugby, drum playing groups, slack lining, and even a cute communal greenhouse area too.
I love the community atmosphere and feel happy seeing an outside space in London used by so many different people. I've always felt safe running here, even at dusk.
Lovely for summer sunshine and crisp autumnal strolls.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kate F.London, United Kingdom12205912 Sept 2015
Fantastic Park - So many different areas to explore! It's a hot spot for families but it's huge so even when it's busy you can still find a quiet spot.
Everything you could want in a park - multiple kids play areas - tennis courts - picnic areas - boating lake - flower gardens - plenty of space for dogs to roam around - little cafe in the middle and plenty of pubs around the outside. Its also nicely maintained and I've always seen gardeners and staff mozeing around when I'm here. Great Park :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joseph T.London, United Kingdom72724618 Dec 2008
I used to live in Finsbury Park the area and for pretty much the whole time was there I regretted how little use I made of the park itself. It is a large, handsome park that is well maintained. In addition to the large open green spaces it has tennis courts, a skating bowl, a boating pond, a running track, a children's playground, basketball courts, a baseball diamond, and an American football field. Additionally, the park occasionally holds concerts including the annual RISE anti-racism music festival.
It is a good example of a park that serves its community well. It is ideal whether you want to go fly a kite, go running, or relive your teens with a bottle of Lambrini.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Qype User (louise…)London, United Kingdom14336922 Jun 2008

Great place to walk and go to get away from it all. It's a lovely and big park which is usually buzzing with activity, but usually not too busy either. It's lovely to see people doing exercise or kids playing.
There are lots of lovely trees and also some great pubs around there which are worth stopping at for a drink or a hot choccie!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Travis L.London, United Kingdom7151077330 Jul 2014
My first time in Finsbury Park (the "park" park) would also be my first time in Finsbury Park (the neighborhood). I had no idea it was a nice area, resembling more of Islington than notorious neighbor Seven Sisters to the East.
London has plenty of parks, but I must say this was a great find for a non-popular area. Nice spacious fields, winding paths, plenty of amenities and never felt too large to navigate- or too crowded to find solace.
The views of hilly North London and glimpses of the City skyscrapers towards the south are an added bonus.
While it's not worthy to travel an hour or more to see (parks worth the long trek would be Regent's Park and Hampstead Heath), it's an excellent spot to meander through if you're near the area.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Helen M.London, United Kingdom042283516 Nov 2007First to Review
Seen from the South and West Finsbury Park looks a little dull to be honest. There's a great sweep of grass along the South side of the Park. It's pretty monotonous. Luckily it's not all there is to this park. Towards the centre of the park are a cluster of facilities: children's play grounds, a café, boating lake and athletics track. The children's play area is really impressive. They have a wonderful range, in fact enough that it's been 'zoned' within the area for different ages of kids. There's also another area, open to over 14's too, which resembles an amphitheatre, with natural look rocks and some tiers of seating as well. Great for picnicking families.
This area forms the top of a hill which falls away steeply to the North East. The lake seems a little strange, set as it is on top of the hill! There's a point by the athletics ground were you can see for miles. I won't say it's a great view, but in London it's always special to be able to see any distance!
For runners of course there's the athletics track, where you can time yourself over a set short distance, and run laps to build up a longer one. The slopes in the North East of the park also mean there's potential for using this park for hill training.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
