The $60 chef's choice sashimi plate is insanely good. I've never had fish this fresh and high quality. It is not overhyped. Come here for the sashimi and the Yakitori. Everything else is just filler.
The atmosphere is bar-y and casual but you will drop $150-200 per couple so get your wallets ready.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - 265260114610 Apr 2024
The chashu don bowl is really good! I feel like the rice in the bowl (sticky rice) is the same as the rice they used for the sushi. I believe the rice should be different, so when I was eating the nigiri, the texture felt very odd to me, so it was quite disappointing.
The desserts are really good, with the star being the ube tiramisu. They have a secret dessert menu that you can ask for.
We made a reservation, and got a private room all to ourselves, which was great! However, service was slow and water was hardly refilled. All of our cups were empty and we had to ask for water a second time at the very end of our meal. It took 10 minutes to get the check, and another few minutes to come back and take our cards.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michelle C.Houston, United States2182129 Mar 2024
We walked in around 6:50 to get dinner before heading to the Chelsea Cutler concert and most of the tables in the restaurant were already reserved so I would recommend booking a reservation before coming if possible. The menu is pretty extensive but full of great things! We got the chicken karaage (soooo tender and crispy, my favorite karaage to date), uni pasta (phenomenal), and tofu (on the specials menu) to share between the 3 of us. We were floored by how tender and flavorful the yakitori was, especially the pork belly. The roll was refreshing and the sushi basically melts in your mouth. For alcohol, I got the ILY so matcha which is like a yuzu drop with matcha. The drink itself does indeed look green but I tasted no matcha whatsoever lol but I will say the drink was refreshing. All in all, we loved everything that came out.
A footnote: I would have absolutely given this place 5 stars because the food was so good but unfortunately I got food poisoning from this experience and my friends also felt ill afterwards.. :(Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 15 Mar 2024
Really good food and a great price. I came with a group of 9 and we split a bunch of menu items. The restaurant accommodated us well and got everything right. Our server was great and even brought me a free dessert since it was my bachelorette party!
Standouts were chicken karaage, salmon yakitori, the Kimidori roll, and two rolls from the specials menu that sadly are not online for me to remember the name.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 181081127 Apr 2024
First time in, and we will be back! This place does everything right. All tables were booked for reservations around 830pm on a Saturday, so we sat at the sushi bar, which was actually pretty fun because we got to see them making our food. We got two of the sushi rolls (Murasaki was so good!) and a bunch of yakitori (bbq skewers), and the bacon wrapped scallops were our favorite. We ended it all with the mochi for dessert. This was some of the best and freshest sushi we've had. Service was 10/10 and the decor inside was so cute!

I first came to Fukumoto several years ago, but as it was during the pandemic, I truly don't remember much (other than that I liked it). I had the pleasure of returning tonight, and I brought three of my friends! We all loved it!
We each ordered a bunch of dishes and tried much of the menu. My favorites were the oyster mushrooms (not on the general menu) and several of the nigiri. So delicious and fresh! Service was very attentive and quick. Our server provided excellent recommendations off the menu.
Street parking was easy enough to find, which is always nice!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Claire F.Dallas, United States17512119 Apr 2024
Greetings and Salutations on this hot take! My opinion leans to "just okay" I feel there are better places to get sushi and food in general. The server was nice enough. I think they might have forgotten a couple of things though "no biggie." I can't say the things I tried were out of this world delicious. I'd describe my experience here as Okie Dokie

Fukumoto has become our top choice for izakaya & sushi, consistently exceeding expectations. The Goma-ae, a Japanese salad with sesame dressing, is a must-try - a perfect balance of flavors and freshness.
What sets Fukumoto apart is its dog-friendly outdoor patio, offering a welcoming experience for both two- and four-legged guests. Free garage parking with validation adds convenience, ensuring a stress-free dining experience.
The staff's genuine hospitality and efficient service make Fukumoto a standout destination. In short, it's a five-star gem that has secured its place as our favorite izakaya spot.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - 15 Nov 2023
This is one of the few Japanese restaurants with sushi on the east side so I'm glad it is so good. There are many creative rolls available. The inclusion of pear made the Kankitsu roll unique and delicious. The Kimidori was also good. There are flights of nigiri available and we ordered a salmon flight which included 3 types of salmon.
The atmosphere was funkier than other sushi restaurants I've visited and I enjoyed the vibe. Although it was pretty busy, the service was fine.Helpful 1Thanks 2Love this 1Oh no 1
