We headed to Guildford for afternoon tea and while wandering along James Street felt the urge for coffee and cake so we popped into this bakery.
There was a mouth watering selection of cakes pies and slices on display but we both opted for the lemon meringue pie with large flat white coffees. Service was quick and the coffee was a first class brew which was served hot hot hot -(I am over getting luke-warm coffee ) but the highlight was the lemon meringue pies. Good, thick pastry - not the flaky stuff usually found these days, a good size with a strongly flavoured lemon cream filling and a high top of meringue, just browned on the top.

Popped in to GTB after a morning of exploring theSwan Valley and not wanting to subscribe to the over priced nature of that area.
It was busy, very busy and seating outside is limited but also very nice. We managed to get 4 seats without too much issue as after all people are generally just knocking back a pie.
I had a vegetable pie with potato top and it was great, followed it up with a bee sting cake, again yum.
Kids had beef pie and pizza, both of which went down well. Everyone there also seemed to enjoy themselves.
One recommendation would be to supply plastic cutlery, particularly for the kids, it would just make things easier however just a suggestion not a criticism.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Scotty H.Perth, Australia36104679 Apr 2017
The Nippy's chocolate milk was a nice hit of nostalgia...
Sitting in the sun on a magnificent Sunday in sunny Guildford "waiting for a mate" so we decided to grab a very quick naughty treat while we wait.
Fiancé and I; who's wedding diet is on hold apparently , got the chunky beef pie and a hedgehog slice, a potato pie and mini sausage roll.
Both pies lacked any form of seasoning and had a gluggy floury consistency. The sausage roll had a nice hit of garlic; however that was all I could taste.
Hedgehog slice - while basic and lacking any originality -saved the morning from complete failure.
We walked off the dissatisfying naughty treats while trying not to be ripped off by "antique" dealers.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Megan D.Perth, Australia051 Sept 2015First to Review
A great place for a pie and coffee on the weekends. Staff are always friendly and attentive which is a plus.
