We found this spot on trip advisor and so glad we did. I ordered the vegetable Chile relleno and this was one of the best vegetable dishes I have ever had. I was trying to figure out how the individual veggies - broccoli, mushrooms and squash tasted so amazing inside the pepper. The spices, pickled onions and guacamole were divine. I will drive back from Berkeley just to eat this.
My friend had the chicken mole enchiladas which had great flavor and both our dishes had well seasoned black beans and rice. The portions were good size so we took 1/2 home and of course had the creme brûlée. Yes, this was delicious too. It would be hard for me to order something else but I have a feeling the entire menu is yummy. I used to come here for lunch often but the food quality has gone down quite a bit. I used to love their garlic rice that came with the babette steak but last time it tasted old.

From lunch, I got moderate food poisoning from the salmon with polenta, but was recovered by the next morning. The salmon was well cooked - no idea what caused it. My companion had a fish tacos and is okay. Service was okay. Ambience was fine.

My company used LaVier Catering for a company lunch today, and I came away from the meal very impressed. Presentation and selection were good, all the staff were very professional. Even as we sat to eat, someone from LaVier came by each table to ask how the food was. Inside our company kitchen area LaVier's employees were hard at work refilling the fast disappearing food.
The food was really good, particularly the Rosemary Chicken with Provencal Sauce. The reduction of white wine sauce gave the chicken some great moistness in addition to the already fragrant and delicious flavors.
I also found the stuffed kibbeh quite interesting, it reminded me of some tastes and flavors I've only found in middle eastern and Persian cooking. The baked in pine nuts inside the kibbeh were an interesting and surprising addition.
I also enjoyed their roasted vegetables, Lentil Pilaf, and mixed greens salad. Although their Salad seemed to be a little smooshed together, they could have given it a good toss before I got a hold of it.
Much of catered food is a compromise, a lot of great things in food are lost in the translation to a catered buffet style serving. If anything was "lost" with LaVier's food, it couldn't have been much. Gabriella & Guillermo and their wonderful crew catered our wedding at Fort Mason in San Francisco. They were absolutely outstanding. To say they were perfect would underrate our experience, because I would never hold anyone up to the standard they set.
They undertook to do a full American meal and a full Indian meal, and accommodate vegetarians on both sides, and really knocked it out of the park. Unbeknownst to us, Guillermo took it upon himself to learn several Indian classics (e.g., gulab jamun) and executed them so well that my bride's mother (who immigrated here from India about 35 years ago and is an excellent cook) wants their recipe. Further, Guillermo came up with several new takes (e.g., a spinach salad with clementines and a wonderful curry-based dressing which may not sound wonderful, but it was unbelievably good) that set the room abuzz.
Gabriella kept both of us sane: She handled the beverages from an outside vendor at our request, the staffing and even made our cake. She was constantly on top of things, professional and most importantly, it was obvious how much she cared on a personal level. They made us feel like members of their family.

Worst customer service and owner is rude. Call order they hang up. If they can't handle a busy restaurant should figure it out and work on customer service. Worst EVER

This caterer serves lunches at our company on a daily basis. The owner (Gabriela) has been rude to our employees on several occasions, making scenes in front of people when she gets stressed. Clearly can't handle stress when food is running low or something else goes not according to plan.
The food is another story. Let alone there is little variety, you can tell a lot of food is not fresh. Many people commented on food being very salty and the usage of the food is literally policed, especially vegetarian dishes.

Thank you for your feedback. We have been serving your company proudly from a year ago without
repeating any menu. We believe that all our clients deserve the best, that is why every day we started
cooking early and bring fresh food to your table. sorry to hear that you think that we have little variety if you call little variety by having 2 main course tables to include two protein every day, two starch dishes, one vegetable side dish without counting the salsa bar including freshly guacamole everyday that is not listed in the menu we send weekly but we like to do it as a courtesy we like to go an extra mile. We also included everyday dishes as gluten free and dairy free, vegetarian dishes that I guard sometimes for the ones cannot eat like everybody else and I think it is not fair for them to come and nothing is available for them since we have a headcount provided by our client.
Also we supposed to provide one dessert everyday along with our fresh fruit platters but instead you get a whole table including cookies, homemade dessert , etc if this is still little variety as you named we are open for more suggestions . I understand that some people think some of our food is salty due to the diet some of them have but we do our best..
Edward let's be honest this is nothing to do with my food, service, presentation that my company offers to your company you know better that we served fresh food every day. Your comments came to me straight you asked me many times the same question and I replied to you with an answered that obviously you didn't like and it wasn't related with my food, I am sorry if you got offended it wasn't my intention but I think I gave you the right answer.
I hope you can keep enjoying my food like everybody else with the smile on a full plate of variety.

I used to like this cater when they first started at our company but their quality has went down since.
Their soups are salty and chicken is usually dry. They lack the variety the other caters offered at our company. The lettuce they use in salads are 'dead' and you don't feel like eating it.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

We appreciate the feedback from any client that have the pleasure to try our food, as far as the salads you have to consider the weather is hard to keep it fresh when is hot or cold like right now is freezing very low temperatures we will do our best . We had received comments from your co-workers on the chicken that our chicken has more flavor, different presentation than the others present or previous caters. We have been serving your company for a year without repeating any menu but we are a business people and take comments in a professional way and we learn from them and try to be better and better.
As far as variety I wont called it "lack" this is what your company is getting: 2 main course tables to include two protein every day, two starch dishes, one vegetable side dish without counting the salsa bar including freshly guacamole everyday that is not listed in the menu we send weekly but we like to do it as a courtesy we like to go an extra mile. We also included everyday dishes as gluten free and dairy free, vegetarian dishes also two salad bars including 7+toppings to add on your salad, protein, 5+differnt dressings and a big dessert table with fresh fruit, homemade desserts, cookies, etc

Gabriella, Guillermo & Crew have been amazing. I use them as our weekly caterer at my Bio-Pharma in Novato.
The food is amazing. Gabriella works with me on the menus every month and is always willing to make edits when I request it.

I am so delighted to have a new favorite restaurant in Marin & yay; it's not the same old, same old. I'm with my daughter & a teenager (very particular eater) & we are having a fantastic dining experience.
