We walked there along the coast path from Soar Mill Cove Hotel (qv). Parking is limited so if you arrive on foot (short steep climb form Salcombe) or by cycle, you get a free cup of tea. As we are NT members entrance was free also.
Last review sums it up quite well. Cafe service was good but cafe may have been a bit tidier and tables cleared more promptly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (yak…)Littlehampton, United Kingdom0481217 Nov 2008
This smallish garden is owned by the National Trust and is special for two reasons: the stunning setting with excellent views over the sea and the Salcombe estuary plus the unusual exotic plants which are grown there thanks to the mild climate of this coastal garden, lots of lush semi tropical plants like echiums and banana palms. The terraces are quite steep so its nbot suitable for all. There is also a museum of curios in the Edwardian house but I haven't been inside. Overbecks isn't large so you don't need that long there but its a lovely place to spend a couple of hours just chilling out and if the sun is out you'll think you're on some foreign riviera!
