Second time of eating here and still amazed by the size of the portions they always seem to serve.
Two of us were well satisfed with an order of the Oriental Tapas Platte & the mixed grill (obviously a healthier version than your UK roadside cafe serves). Large beers are also 500ml which makes a nice change from the 440ml many other places prefer to serve.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Qype User (richar…)Berlin, Germany2303003349 Dec 2011
This is a really good place to eat and relax in Hamburg. Run by a well known local family, the staff at Peacestanbul really know how to look after you.
Really friendly welcome, great food (just go for the 'menu' with sharing starters followed by delicious meat course), very good wine and service. However the vibe of the place is relaxed, open, chilled and provides a versatile place to hang out during the week or weekends.
I have been here 3 times now, twice with work, once with my family. Really enjoyed each time, and look forward to coming back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Alistair H.Berlin, Germany54673183910 Sept 2010First to Review
Yesterday we had a work night out at Peacetanbul. We took about 30 people and they delivered us a feast! Starting with a lentil soup, but quickly followed by a succession of plates full of food and bowls of different sauces and dips. Unfortunately I don't know the names of half the things that were served up, but I'll have a stab at describing them:
- A kind of omelet, sliced into small pieces
- Fried rolls containing either meat or sheep's cheese
- A plate of fried, grilled & boiled vegetables
- A Turkish-style salad with lots of tomato and olives
- Cous Cous
- A plate of grilled peppers
- Many, many plates of grilled meat some skewered, some not (beef, lamb, chicken)
The plates of food kept coming until everyone was more than stuffed!
Everything was great, with the meat being a highlight - I'd highly recommend Peacetanbul for parties. I'll have to visit again and see how it is as a restaurant.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (stefan…)Hamburg, Germany857610712 Sept 2010
I have to back Ali's review up 100%...the place is great, the atmosphere and the people there are really nice and the food is just awesome. One thing that definitely distinguishes this restaurant from the others I've been to in Hamburg are portions: they're massive!!! I am going back here pretty soon, no doubts.

A very "kultig" place, trendy and frequented by hipsters and alternatives alike. Atmosphere, drinks, and food are as good (and plentiful) as they were at Mr. Kebab, which was just a few blocks away and run by the same family. Only downside: The Ayran cooler did not make it from the old location to Peacetanbul, so Ayran is now served in bottles... :-( Service is impeccable! Friendly and always erring on the cheap side, meaning they always deliberately "forget" to charge you for a few things you had :-)
