Located in the busy shopping centre Monks Cross, this Pizza Hut is handily located for a bite to eat during a busy morning/afternoon shopping.
The decor inside is modern, with high ceilings and well upholstered comfy chairs. (beats the horrible old hard plastic or wooden jobbies!) I believe that it has been refurbished fairly recently!
The food is what you come to expect from Pizza hut, a selection of Pizzas with a variety of base styles, including, thin and crispy and their famous 'stuffed crust'. There is also Pasta dishes and some scrummy salads.
Another thing Pizza Hut is famous for is the buffet, which is great for those with the bigger appetites as you can keep going back and forth as many times as you like.
Very much a family orientaed restaurant and the waiting staff will help you with a highchair if you need one. Sometimes the tot in the highchair will eat for free, sometimes I was charged for my daughter, sometimes not! I guess it depended who was serving us!? but she always receives some crayons and book to keep her occupied which is a nice touch!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (thecre…)Selby, United Kingdom35825 Nov 2008
Pizza hut is great with nice food and decent prices. The complaints above should be expected as to be honest the salad bar buffet is gross, not because of the food but because of the people and kids that mess with all the food before troughing it down, word of advice, never eat the salad bar!
The pizzas are awesome and they have just introduced a range of pastas for a ever so slightly healthy option.
It is always clean and the staff friendly, the only problem is it tends to get quite busy and I personally prefer to eat in quieter restaurants but hey ho you just have to take it if you want the wonderful pizzas held within!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (poddin…)York, United Kingdom2551862912 Sept 2008
it might have changed from the las time i visited, but i use to drop in with my son
at 1st it was as you would expect, like any other pizza hut i've ever been to
all you can eat lunch buffet, was or fav
on the last visit, the sweetcorn salad at the buffet bar was low, not a problem as enough for what i wanted! but the sweetcorn, smelt sour! having worked with food and still do, it takes time for food to go off this way! with this smell? the corns were covered in a slight slime.
only conclusion is that they just put the fresh over the old! and that is a major no no! if there not rotating what is out on the buffet, what else are they not rotating in the kitchen?
needless to say that i paid and left! and this is the only pizza hut where i've had the buffet this had ever happened! but it's put me off going to pizza hut!
remember some food poisoning bacteria can take a week before it affects you. and certain ones will leave you illegal to work with food ever again! i wondered if i should have reviewed this as it was a year ago? but how many people looked this over?
its an event that i often think of, especially as i work with food, and it is part of my career! not to mention a major part of my home life!
the only thing i regret is not complaining and bringing it to the managers attention at the time!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (blurb…)Harrogate, United Kingdom039 Mar 2012
