One of best Indian dinners I've had. Sanam in Falkirk, Scotland. I had the recommended dish, handi with lamb, and my husband got the chicken Tikka chili bhoona. We also had pakoras, garlic naan, and delicious Punjabi rice. I would eat here again. 5 stars!

This is a popular place in Falkirk but unfortunately both my myself and my mum had a bit of food poisoning the day after getting takeaway from here. Hopefully just a one-off as it always seems very busy and people seem to enjoy.

We might not have planned it exactly, but having spent a slightly drizzly day wandering around Falkirk's shops, I ended up buying a gorgeous dress from a lovely independent boutique called Quest, and I needed an excuse to wear it, so, even though it was a drizzly Sunday, we decided to give Sanam Tandoori a go.
The first good sign was that even on such a day, it was busy. We showed up at about 8 pm, without a reservation, reasoning that almost nowhere was ever busy in Falkirk, except on Saturday nights, and we almost ended up getting turned away. Luckily, after a short wait, they found us a table for 2. Next time, we'll definitely book.
We settled down, ordered a couple of beers and a starter of fish pakora, which I always choose when I see it on menus because it's not always an option. The batter was light, crisp and surprisingly spicy. The fish was chunky, firm and tender. We fought for the last piece.
For my main, I chose a lamb tikka Nashidar because, again, I'd never seen the dish on any menu before. It features mushrooms, onions, ginger, garlic sweet corn and brandy! Brandy! Obviously, I was trying this. As with many of the dishes available at Sanam Tandoori, they offered extra green chillies for more kick. Having not dined here before, I decided against it and my meal was absolutely delicious just as it was. Fresh, fragrant and moreish, but all the same, I do like a little spice, so next time I think I'd add those chillies.
Naturally enough we chose a side of rice and a Peshwari naan to share. The naan was the kind that's pink in the centre and drizzled with honey and was perfect for scooping up our curries with.
The only downside to the meal was being completely incapable of finishing it all. I don't know what's becoming of me. Honestly, I was ashamed. Still, they say every cloud has a silver lining and the staff were kind enough to box up our meals for us to take home - if anything they were even better as a leftover meal the next day.
Sanam Tandoori really impressed us - it's good to know that there's great Indian food available right on our doorstep and it's easy to see why the place is so popular. We'll definitely be back soon.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Michael H.Houston, United States012159 May 2017

Nearly every 2 week we get an Indian take away. We have always gone to the Sanam. Since it has been done up a few years ago, it looks a lot better when your sitting in and they changed the chefs so it tastes a lot better. Takeaway is brilliant as well. There is always a queue so phone up first to make sure you can get a table or your order is ready in time. The staff are all very nice which gives you a good chat! They also won the best Central Scotland Indian Restaurant of 2015.

this is a busy indian restaurant. i have only ever been here at lunch time. the buffet is very good and very reasonably priced too. the staff are very nice and friendly. the second you have finished your drink they are over at your table to see if you want another one. it is quite a big place with plenty of seating. i have also had a few takeaways from here are the quality is the same as the restaurant which is not always the case with other places. they also do a home delivery service, but i dont know how far afield the deliver, i've not had one. definitely one to try if your out shopping in falkirk and looking for somewhere to have lunch. it is only about 5 minutes walk from the main shopping centre.

Six of us booked in last night 16/10/10. We were shown into the extended part of the dining room. The service was very pleasant and easy going. Although our booking was not till 8:30 pm, when most buffet's are well depleted, The Sanams were freshly fully stalked. The serving waiters were very helpful explaining what everything was and it's ingredients and how hot all the varied dishes were. (6 Starters, 8 Mains and a good selection of deserts) Between the six of us we managed to try most or all of the dishes on offer (well it is a BUFFET) Every one of us were extolling the quality of the food and service.A pleasant surprise when going to the gents toilet as it is modern, and spotless. It is a bit on the pricey side@ £15:95 , but it was a Sat. evening, and it is the best restaurant in Central region

Nice food and the service is always impeccable given that it's a busy place. Been here for over 50 years I guess that says it all don't you?
