Contrary to my prediction about the demise of the high street photo developer as a business, they are still going strong today. I think this is partly due to the lack of user-friendliness and quality of home photo printing (surely a business opportunity there) but also these shops have been very good at reinventing themselves.
These days, you can still get the basic photo printing service and the photo machines there accept photos on almost any electronic media. Besides paper, they also print onto hats, t-shirts, keyrings, mugs and other gift items. I think they're missing a slight trick in not allowing customers to play with the images/backgrounds on screen before printing - a cinch with modern computing packages.
I've also used them for converting some older videos onto DVD, which is a useful service. Having them now in digital format will hopefully fullproof them for awhile at least.
My sister also popped in here on Sunday to go some photos done for a visa. The service was fast and we walked out with the 4 photos and images burnt onto disc for £7.
Snappy Snaps still meet a need in this digital age and they did provide a snappy service.Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 12Oh no 0 - Laura Kate S.London, United Kingdom143116844519 Nov 2014
Prices: utterly ridiculous
Staff: very kind and friendly
Service: good
There's not much to say about this place. It's not a first choice as all Snappy Snaps are overpriced, but I needed a handful of photos printed for an event and discovered that their 1hour or 30 minute services are double the cost of their Kodak printer machine. Yes, the quality is higher, but at over £1 per print? NO. I only ended up here as the instant photo machines at no less than 3 Boots locations couldn't read my memory stick. Thankfully, the machine here worked. I paid through the nose, but needs must!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Manasi K.Seattle, United States161232728 Aug 2013
I cannot believe I haven't reviewed this place yet!
This is where I went to have my negative film developed & scanned for all my professional work. They took care to clean my negs before scanning them.
Ask for Rob. He's awesome & makes sure they meet expectations!
I think they now send out all scanning works to a different branch but they still do a great job!
Don't go by the small, cramped interiors - they know what they are doing.
I miss them horribly now that I've moved to Seattle.
Just to be clear, this is the Snappy Snaps on the Mall (Ealing Broadway).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stella L.Morden, United Kingdom0211 Sept 2013
Impatient staff, bad attitude. Not enough staff so there was a long queue. I was there for at least an hour to be served properly and there was always a long queue. The staff didn't provide a professional service in taking passport photos, they were not usable, I ended up taking another set in another place. They don't even have the system to check different country's passport photo requirement which I know is available in other stores. I went in to refund the photos and they gave me credits, again, very impatient attitude.
