Tantra Night Clubs

Lets get straight to the point - it has beds in it!!! Yes that's right, for those of you who have never been then the first thing you are bound to pick up on is that there are people scattered around the edge of the bar lounging on beds. Very risque but seems to work pretty well.


Beyond that there is good mood lighting in the bar, yeah OK coupled with the beds it can make the whole place seem a little bit like a brothel, but no one seems to mind :-)


They can have decent DJ's in on the weekend and I have also been here when they have had some live music on which has also been good.


It is not the biggest place and so it can get quite busy on weekends. Prices are towards the high side although I do believe they do or at least used to do some decent deals on bottles of wine if you bought the whole bottle :-)

Tantra is on my list of favourite Nottingham bars, it's more of a cocktail bar but they do have a few decent draught beers which is always welcome. The drinks arent cheap, looking at £3+ a pint, and the cocktails are generally £6+ even with the offers they have. It's a pretty funky atmosphere inside, the kind of place that can get away with playing jazz, fairly dressy, it has some plush red beds in it for seating, beware though they are a bit less comfortable than they look! They have some red drape curtains over the entrance to the beds too, but they are seethrough so no naughty business :P


One bad point about it, my jacket got nicked here so I would keep an eye on your belonging seems some people have sticky fingers :/

I always wanted to go to a lounge with beds in it and low and behold dreams do come true! I was happy that these beds weren't covered in some various sticky liquids and that the music was pretty decent. I went on a week night and it was 2-for-1 cocktails! Ask for an extra long straw and you can get drunk laying down!! You're welcome.

This bar is fab its dark and lusicous and comescomplete wioth large beds for the more friendly sort of socializing. its quiet early in the week so nice for a quiet drink.

Tantra markets itself as 'the sexiest bar in Nottingham'. As you enter and descend down the stairs, you get the feel of a stylish private members bar. The decor is dark and plush - with booths and even beds to lounge about on! Seems to attract a slightly older, sophisticated crowd.

You can book Tantra beds for your birthday bash. Ask the staff to corden it off and to put poppers and streamers etc for your birthday. As long as you tell them how many you have going you will have the beds exclusively to yourself. Free!! And your friends will be impressed.

I love Tantra, it's one of the best places to Nottingham to relax and have fun all at the same time. You can book the beds (yes beds, they have beds all round the outside which you can lay back and relax on) or you can grab one of the sofas. They have a mixture of music and often have a DJ or singer to really set the mood. The bar staff are friendly and the drinks are slightly more expensive but worth it for the experience

tantra is not that bad, its quite small and gets packed pretty quick, its a bit pricey but it must work cause people keep going back ive been a few times would go again but not in no rush. each night they seem to do different things. fri sat and sun(thats quite good not many places in nottingham stay open till that time on a sunday night) its open till 4am.and the rest of the week its open till 3am.

mondays is wear your jeans night with 80's music and jugs tequila, mojita,passoa and hypnotic for a tenner thats till 3am
tuesdays they do a half price cocktail night with soul music. every night from 5pm till 8pm they do house wine for £7 a bottle, check it out there is something for everyone

lounging on the beds with your friends sharing a bottle of wine is socomfortable whenever me and my friends go out on a girls night we always end up here for a gossip before the dancing starts! its a really great chill out space.

Beware the stairs! I fell down them and that was the end of my night out! On other occasions, however, I have had great nights at Tantra! The special thing about the bar is the 'beds' and the curtains you can pull for privacy! Otherwise, drinks are a bit pricier than other places, which is probably why it's not hugely popular for students like some other bars.
