Picked up a halloumi wrap for the airport. There was a small line right before opening, but they took my order right away, and I got it within 5 minutes. So quick!!
The wrap itself was solid, but I felt as if the halloumi was sort of just put into the wrap and there wasn't a cohesive flavor tying everything together. The fries were spiced well and I loved the yogurt. The pita also had some seasoning and was incredibly soft. Maybe some seasoning on the halloumi would've helped. Their sit down menu also look great, so I would totally come again and try it out! The ambiance inside seemed very nice for a meet up for friends or a date.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Melina K.Vienna, United States0297629 Jun 2023
The food was outstanding and so was the service. The prices were very good compared to other places in London. Exceptional Greek food that you can find in this area. Inside was gorgeous, lively, and welcoming. I definitely recommend coming here!!

Decent lunch fare, octopus was a bit chewy but the chicken over tzikiki was great my guest had hummus and flatbread (pita) which was good.

The only reason I visit Covent Garden for food is The Real Greek. Seriously good food that's at least 3 levels above everything else in the surrounding area. The Greek tapas concept was new to me and at first a bit weird but getting 3-4 dishes per person is the recommended road to follow.

I'm VERY surprised by the negative reviews here!
Maybe I've always been lucky, but I've been here twice for lunch and once last week for dinner and always had a great experience.
The dinner was particularly good - we had one of the 'set' menus (Peloponnese) for 2 at £29.75. You get 8 dishes and a choice between 2 for each dish. The food was great quality and there was just the right amount of everything to go round. The filo pastry feta parcels and falafel were particular highlights!
Yes it may not be the most 'authentic', but the food was lovely, service was great and for the price we paid I left very happy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Victoria Y.New York, United States2962523417 Mar 2017
Mostly leaving this negative review for the service. I came here on a Sunday night, most of the other restaurants in the area were either closed or packed so just decided to take a chance on eating here seeing as it was semi busy. If only I had known I would be waiting an hour for food to be made then I would have waited for a table elsewhere.
After waiting 20 minutes for a waiter to notice us and hand us menus, we waited another 10 for the same waiter to give us water, when he returned we asked that he take down our order and he replied - I'm done with my shift so someone else will help you, not bothering to check in to find someone and no one else was around. He subsequently took off his apron and walked out the door clearly not about his job. Waited some more and then finally when the food arrived, granted it looked very cute in this high tea arrangement, it was cold and bland. For the price too, I expected more for us to share.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - T. F.San Francisco, United States04513 May 2019
My bf and I both liked this place overall. Super friendly staff. Decent Greek food (though they were out of the two things I wanted most). Minus a star for the Souvlaki chicken wrap -- was just baked chicken inside and not very flavorful. That's such a standard item at a Greek spot it, they should do it well. Also, they charge you extra for pita -- it does not come with your hummus! That was lame. Lamb meatballs were great. My bf had the sausage and really liked them. Baklava was also good.

We were looking for somewhere to eat after the theatre, and there are so many options in the area! We settled on The Real Greek because it looked pretty nice from the outside, and I didn't have interwebs on my phone to find the perfect spot on Yelp.
The upstairs was jam packed with tables crowded together but the server led us straight downstairs to a tiny area with 5 tables and some very lovely pictures of Greece. Unfortunately it also smelled quite a bit like toilets.
Our server was in and out, and not super committed to making sure we were happy and had everything we needed. I understand that it was very busy, but service can easily make or break an experience, and it did not make this experience, sadly. We ordered some things to share, including the smoked eggplant dip, tiropitakia, halloumi veg skewer, and grilled octopus.
The eggplant dip was truly outstanding and I was excited for what the rest of the food would bring. The halloumi was also delicious, but quite small, but quite greasy, as was the tiropitakia. The filo was weirdly deep fried and suuuper greasy, and the filling was also greasy and quite salty. The octopus tasted weird to me, a bit old and chewy, although Boyfriend really liked it.
The meal was fine, the service was seriously lacking, and it was quite pricey for a small amount of food. I probably wouldn't give it another try, to be honest.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Lusea W.London, United Kingdom914411016 Dec 2008
I went here a few weeks back with friends, and had a very enjoyable experience.
Although you do have to order each food separetly the prices are pretty reasonable so it doesn't cost much. I had the Kalamari which was £5.75 with a greek salad which wasnt much more... The design of the place is very pretty with sweet little wooden tables that slot into each other like ying yangs.. and the food is served on little tea stands!
However if you have lots of shopping with you, the tables are very small so if could be quiet cramped.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christian W.London, United Kingdom2606511721 May 2015
Finally, my child's dream came true! Becoming invisible is possible at MJ Cafe.
Service is hands down the worst ever.
I wanted to take my girl somewhere nice to eat. For God's sake, it took half an hour just to get water served on our table.
When 40 minutes later we thought our food was finally ready, they served us the wrong order and we were asked to wait for 'a while'.
How do they even have clients? Maybe food is good -- if you feel like waiting hours to eat.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0
