My daughter will turn 2 on the 19th and I wanted to do something special for her. However we really don't have anybody to give our invitation with for a kids party since we are new in this town. We just want her to play and socialize with other kids on her day. Is there any program/activity that gathers kids and host a birthday party?   Any suggestions? Please i am all ears...

You could take her to a children's museum.

Sign up with a mothers' (parents'?) co-op in your area, it'll integrate you better into your neighborhood and give you social benefits as well as your daughter :)

If she is two years old, the most fun and memorable thing you could do is probably let her play around in the dirt with some other kids.  Maybe give her some interesting textures and shapes too, like a bunch of spaghetti noodles.

Hi AJ! I highly recommend Sandbox Sports in Georgetown for some kids' playing time. Checking our their website for the Lil Diggers times. Tons of kids converge down there for some fun in the sand!

The Children's Museum at Seattle Center is pretty lame. We had the same exact issue when our son turned 2. What area are you in? If your close to a Spray Park, those are pretty fun & lots of kids running around.

Discovery Museum in Factoria, Children's Museum, Twirl in Queen Anne, the Zoo (and nearby playground), Water play areas in Everett, Bellevue all come to mind.

seattleschild.com is a great resource to find kids activities here and +1 to joining a neighborhood parents group - you can usually find one online for your area on Yahoo.

Seems as though all the kid birthday parties I've attended the past few years have been everywhere, but Chuck E Cheese.  Sandbox sounds awesome.  Some options you may have are jungle gyms, the bouncy house, Children's museum (already mentioned).  There's one in Tacoma if that is more convenient for you.  You can even do a pool party at the Aquatic Center in Federal Way (I'm sure other public pools have this option).  The Aquatic Center has a kid section with a huge pirate ship in the middle and it squirts water everywhere.  You wouldn't have to worry about kids drowning because they have lifeguards & there's a part where it starts very shallow and gradually gets deeper.  Plus, I'm sure parents will be monitoring.  The YMCA in Seatac has a room you can rent with a fully equipped kitchen.  There's a baby section for toddlers to crawl and a bigger play area (similar to Chuck E Cheese, but cleaner & newer).  You can bring your own food which makes it more affordable.  For an even more affordable route... the park.  Jefferson Park on Beacon Hill is fairly new and not only a playground, but zip line & water squirting area and tons of sleds.  A little bit for everyone... assuming it's a nice day.  Good luck!
