Hi Dave, you're right - the Yelp reviews don't seem to have stretched to that neck of the woods really. I'd suggest you head into Mcr instead - the Ancoats area is the part closest to Newton Heath, so you could give Rudy's Pizza a try, or have a beer in Smithfield Market Tavern. Just after that is the Northern Quarter, where there are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops to while away your time. If there's anything in particular you'd like to try, just let us know and we could offer some suggestions.
