Someone (with Geico car insurance) drove into my parked card. It's tough to miss - you know 8 foot long black SUV. Anyway I tried calling Geico on the day my car was hit to file a claim. The recording told me the wait time was 40 minutes. I hung up, downloaded the app and filed my claim. Two days later, I had still not heard from anyone. So I called and again the recording told me it was a 40 minute wait. Apparently understaffing is their M.O. I waited on hold and 30 minutes later someone picked up. She was the nicest woman, incredibly patient. (Chrystal) She is the only reason I am giving Geico more than 1 star. However, the car is yet to be repaired so we'll see how this plays out.
In the past two months I have bought two items - both were damaged and had to be returned and both problems were discovered as the installer was there trying to put it in. The first was an outdoor light which was cracked, the second was a ceiling fan where the motor isn't rotating correctly. Most annoying. Done here.

Diane,
I apologize for the problems you had canceling your order. I'd like to look into this. Please send me your order and contact numbers so that we can resolve this for you.
Thanks,
Steph (stephanie_care@homedepot.com)
After my long and arduous conversation about this with HD, I mistakenly thought my purchase was cancelled, so I was not looking for a delivery of an item that I believed to be cancelled. As I just discovered, it has been on my porch for several days.( in the chicago winter weather mind you--it's porcelain.)
Like most homeowners with attached garages, I go in and out of my garage exclusively-my front door is used for my dinner deliveries only! Good thing I ordered a pizza or it would have been there for a month without me knowing.
Just ordered an item online. Free shipping if it's over $250. 2-6 days for delivery. 7 business days later I try to cancel it online--it tells me they have no record of an account with my email address (though they've sent 2 emails to this address) so I go into the store to cancel the order--they have no record of it. 7 days later I try to cancel it over the phone and they tell me I'll be hit with a restockiing fee if I cancel it now--Complete bullshit! Quite a policy--we don't meet our own window in which we've told you you'll have the product and then we'll hit you with a fee when you try to cancel. I'm done with HD and apparently, judgiing from the comments here, so are some other people.
I had a great 1/2 day trip out to Sand Island. I was concerned initially because all my kayaking experience has been on flat water and that's a big jump to Lake Superior. My concern was not lessened when I saw our guides, who both looked like they were about 15-no exaggeration. But it was an excellent experience which I enjoyed a great deal. Beware you will have to carry your kayaks down about 50 stairs (or up if you're the last trip of the day).
I enjoyed my cruise a great deal. The captain (Dave) shared interesting and historical information which I enjoyed. The scenery was beautiful-we had a gorgeous sunny day. The trip gave me a much better idea of how big Lake Superior is-much different than reading about it. I enjoyed seeing the lighthouses-truthfully I liked everything about it. One noteworthy point, the captain suggested we try the chicken ? livers when we were at in-town restaurants. I passed, thinking I'm not really a liver fan and it was just a pitch to pad restaurant bills. I was in a restaurant waiting for my takeout and overhead a guy who was on the same boat on a different day talking about the livers too which pretty much re-inforced my belief about the restaurant bills.
Believe the reviews-it's that bad. However, for me I had a very limited window in which to get to the Apostle Islands and this place was the only place I could find, so I took it. It is very dirty, musty smelling and is on the side of the highway, so it is very loud at night, unlike what other reviews may have posted. The counter is that it is right across from Lake Superior and the drive in to Bayfield is quite nice. Cable was fine, linens were stained.
