If you're local and love art, Chaffey Community Museum is a great free activity to do on a weekend in Downtown Ontario. They only open from Thursdays-Sundays from noon-4PM. I dropped by about an hour before closing on a Saturday. The parking and museum were both pretty empty. I enjoyed the quiet and perusing the art. The cool thing about the art at this museum is they feature art from mostly artists in socal. Multiple artists worked at companies such as Disney or Paramount. Many took art classes from the same school. I was very impressed by the quality and variety of art.
Overall, an hour was perfect for taking my time in the museum. I'd definitely recommend and return since they apparently change the art from time to time.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 5281088135722 Aug 2018

This is a fantastic little art museum located across from the Ontario History and Art Museum. They have a standard collection and rotate special events in and out. The size is nice and there are multiple rooms so that particular collections or pieces can be highlighted/separated. Lighting is great and the docents are friendly and knowledgeable. Keep an eye out to see what special collections they bring in. Its free to visit and you can see everything in less than an hour if you're in a hurry, although you can take your time to enjoy it all if you aren't!
Highly recommend!!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 16 Mar 2015First to Review
I came to the Chaffey Community Museum of Art to see my friend's art exhibit "Faces of the Community" which was on display. Currently, in addition to her exhibit, there are several others to enjoy here.
After gaining entry into the main exhibit room, you'll have an option to continue forward through a small hallway with an exhibit room to the right or the option to venture to the right and into several other exhibit rooms.
This is a very small museum, however, I feel like it forces you to get intimate with the artwork on display. The lighting within each exhibit room is superb and allows each art piece's detail to be seen (though artwork with "darker" themes are cleverly displayed in low lit rooms). None of the exhibit rooms were overly crowded either, with everything on display having plenty of wall space in between so as not to take away from each piece of art.
Perhaps it was due to the event during my visit that the museum had a gentleman playing live piano in the main gallery. The soft music was a subtle and gentle reminder to keep chatter down to a minimum.
Also in the main gallery was an assortment of snacks and beverages to enjoy while walking through the exhibits (again, I believe this was due to the event taking place that day).
The staff was very friendly, polite and extremely thankful to those who were at the museum during my visit. As I exited the museum with my family, I saw an email sheet for receiving updates about goings on at the museum. It was one of the few times I was excited to write down my email address for updates, as I really look forward to future events by local artists.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kay A.Fontana, United States151029 May 2018
A great little museum, with a friendly staff, good lighting, associated artists, and events. They also have a nice gift shop with painting by artists associated with the museum and flyers for local events and classes. When they have an artist's reception at the beginning of a new show, they have a gentleman playing on their piano, snacks and drinks, and just a fine event.
I joined immediately, and have met some very nice people there. I really recommend it. I have been participating in their artist's get-together on Fridays, as well as some of the classes they had flyers for. It has really added a lot of very enjoyable activities to my life. And the educational opportunities of course "trickle down" to my grandchildren. What could be better?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
